HOME MOVIES IN THE SKY
Installation, Found Object Sculpture and Photography
Home Movies In The Sky is a curious and playful installation that delves into the world of the uncanny. Occupying the space in and around a domestic caravan, it invites viewers to explore the environment inside and discover the many creations to be found. The work uses domestic materials and deposable decoration to simulate a surreal sense of life yearning for freedom, while exploring notions surrounding the home and what may occur in the home during our absences. Creating a wondrous yet ambiguous setting further explored through a cross connection of advanced and DIY technologies, capturing a strange yet familiar sense of the uncanny.
Home Movies In The Sky was exhibited as part of the 2012 2high Festival, Australia's one-of-a-kind multi-arts festival for young and emerging artists and arts practitioners, held at the Brisbane Powerhouse on Saturday the 10th of November 2012.
