Alithea Josaphine is a contemporary artist, curator and designer based in Brisbane Queensland, Australia. Graduating from Queensland University of Technology in 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts), her practice incorporates a broad range of materials, methods and mediums (photography, installation, found object sculpture and mixed media) to identify fragments of life where conflicting or hypocritical elements exist side by side. Consistently working with new processes Alithea has developed a talent for recycling and re-purposing everyday materials and utilising unique spaces. An active member of the Brisbane arts community, Alithea has curated and managed a number of group exhibitions connecting local artists and working with professional gallery spaces. Most recently she has been working on a number of multi-arts festivals such as Brisbane Emerging Arts Festival and the 2013 2high Festival as a site designer and festival coordinator.
